Simple and safe access through the Petrovskiy fairway equipped with leading lights (65.3° - 245.3°). The harbour is easily identified from the fairway by its conspicuous administrative building standing beside the Guest Harbour. There are the artificial breakwaters and other protecting constructions.
 

Approach to St.Petersburg River Yacht Club

St.Petersburg River Yacht Club is situated on Petrovskiy island between mouths of Malaya Neva and Malaya Nevka rivers. Northern coast of Petrovskiy island locates Gostevaya (1) and Paradnaya (2) harbors, while Southern coast - Rabochaya harbor (3).
 
Paradnaya harbor is located along the left coast of Malaya Nevka river. Gostevaya harbor is located on the western part of Petrovskiy island and is separated from Nevskaya inlet by a protective mole from å. Berths of Gostevaya and Paradnaya harbors are equipped with electric power supply and fresh water.
 
Rabochaya harbor is located on the southern coast of Petrovskiy island and is equipped with a hoisting crane (12 tonn), fuel station, repair and sailing service.
 
Petrovskiy fairway serves for approaching St.Petersburg River Yacht Club from Nevskaya inlet. It is limited from N by a Krestovskaya shoal, from S - by the shoal of Dekabristov island. The fairway width is 80 meters; 4 meters depth is being maintained. In the point where the first elbow changes to the second one, another fairway branches off Petrovskiy fairway, leading to mouth of Malaya Nevka river, which flows into Nevskaya inlet between Petrovskiy and Krestovskiy islands.
 
Petrovskiy fairway is equipped for day- and night-time navigation and is marked by light and unlit buoys. Navigation along the fairway is supported by leading lines of lighthouses and light beacons. The fairway leading to mouth of Malaya Nevka river (to Paradnaya and Gostevaya harbors of St.Petersburg River Yacht Club), is marked by unlit buoys.
 

Petrovskiy fairway

 
Petrovskiy fairway has two elbows.
 
The first elbow starts from entrance light buoy # 2 on the left side (j=59°57'N; l=30°09'Å), with the direction of 245,3° - 65,3° up to light buoy # 11 on the right side. The length of the first elbow makes 2 Nm.
 
The leading line of Krestovskiy island lights leads along the first elbow of Petrovskiy fairway, leading line direction is 245,3° - 65,3°.
 
  • The front beacon - white circular ferroconcrete beacon tower with red vertical stripe from leading line side. The structure is 12 meters in height, the light is red fixed, visible 11 miles. The beacon is exhibited at south-western extremity of Krestovskiy island.
  • The rear beacon - white circular ferroconcrete beacon tower with red vertical stripe from leading line side. The structure is 17,2 meters in height, the light is red fixed, visible 11 miles. The beacon is exhibited at south-western extremity of Krestovskiy island, two cables from the front beacon.
 
The second elbow starts from light buoy # 11 on the right side and lies with the direction 294,7° - 114,7° at the distance of 7,5 cables and is separated by three pillar buoys on the right side.
 
Malonevskiy leading line is situated on the shoal in the mouth of Malaya Neva river, leading along the second elbow of Petrovskiy fairway, leading line direction is 294,7° - 114,7°.
 
  • The front beacon is situated 1 cable from the Northern coast of Dekabristov island.
  • The rear beacon is situated 181 meters from the front one.
 
Beacons appearance: white boards in the form of trapezium with a black vertical stripe in the middle, partially destroyed, established on concrete foundation.
 

Directions to navigate along Petrovskiy fairway

 
To approach near buoy # 2 of Petrovskiy fairway from the sea, the following may be used as landmarks:
 
  • radio-mast of ol'gino settlement;
  • tv mast;
  • four lightheads of kirova stadium, located on western extremity of krestovskiy island;
  • spire of peter and paul cathedral, located on southern coast near petrodvorets.
 
Entrance buoy # 2 (j=59°57'N; l=30°09'Å) of the Petrovskiy fairway left side is approximately located on the line of lightheads of Kirova stadium - Peter and Paul cathedral in Petrodvorets.
 
On approaching entrance buoy # 2 of the Petrovskiy fairway, steer for the leading line of the light beacons of Krestovskiy island and follow the line until light buoy # 11, then turn right and steer for the Malonevskiy leading line. On passing 7,5 cables along Malonevskiy leading line up to the pillar buoy near Dekabristov island, turn left and keeping in the middle of Malaya Neva fairway, follow upwards up to Tuchkov bridge.
 
To enter Rabochaya harbor of St.Petersburg River Yacht Club, reach the beam of the rear beacon of the Malonevskiy leading line, turn 90° left and follow to the harbor at low speed.
 
To pass to Malaya Nevka river to Gostevaya and Paradnaya harbors of St.Petersburg River Yacht Club, proceed without following Malonevskiy leading line to the left from the pillar buoy, separating the fairways, leaving it on the starboard side, and keep in the middle of the marked fairway up to the Malaya Nevka river entrance.
