 Entrance visas to Russian Federation

All foreign tourists and guests need a visa to visit Russian Federation. The visa is received beforehand either via Russian consulate or via the embassy of the inhabitancy country of the foreign citizen.
The following documents are required to apply for a visa: an official invitation from Russia, valid passport (plus printed copy of its first page), photos and the application form. An official invitation may be obtained from an accredited Russian Travel company (or a yacht club), as well as from a private person.
 Navigation of small boats in Russian territorial waters

Each small boat should cross the frontier of Russian Federation using only specially-assigned passages, namely Prodol'no-Lotsmanskiy fairway, between buoys ## 15 and 16, located directly on the frontier line, and the Glavniy Korabel'nyy fairway (the southern extremity of Gogland island), and follow to the destination port, keeping to official fairways.
On passing through Federal Frontier Services, located on islands of the Gulf of Finland, it is recommended to keep watch on VHF channel 16:

 Waters restricted for small boats navigation

All Russian islands of Gulf of Finland and Viborgskiy Gulf are restricted for foreign yachts and motor-boats. Navigation along the fairway through Bjorkezund channel requires admittance. Such admittance is registered by an application in accordance with established order, to the address of Leningrad Naval Base, on the basis of which departments of Federal Frontier Services of Russian federation are being informed. Ermilovskiy bay is restricted for navigation of all small boats.

In case of an accident or other emergencies help may be asked from Maritime Rescue Center, St.Petersburg.
- Uses the following frequencies for twenty-four-hour radio-watch:
- VHF 16-th channel (156,8 MHz), radiation class G3E;
- VHF 9-th channel (156,450 MHz), radiation class G3E;
- International aviation SOS frequency (121,5 MHz);
- 70-th channel (156,525 MHz) (DSC GMDSS);
