

Saint-Petersburg River Yacht Club is a foundation of Saint-Petersburg Independent Trade Unions Federation Council created to develop sailing.
According to available data the yacht club remained the only sporting sailing one of such size and organization in all the Russia. The fleet of the yacht club accounts more than 100 sailing yachts.

The distance to city centre is 5 km. Easy access to the city by car and public transport. Near to Yacht Club there is a beach.

 Description

The club has 3 harbours: Northern - by Malaya Nevka - with 7 booms, each with 12-20 berths, Western with 100-120 berths and utility harbour - for yacht launching, lifting, arming and repairing, that is 200-250 yachts can lie on the water at club at once.
There is waterside 12 ton lifting crane and trackless slipway for small boats. There are also almost unlimited possibilities of joiner's, locksmith's, sail and rigging repairing, battery charging station.
The club organises fuel, water, gas and goods filling. It helps to get different information, sometimes can help in mounting some documents, regarding yachts sailing.
At the club there are hangars for winter storage of sparring, winter repairing of yachts, lockers for yachts belongings storage.
One can enjoy evening in the restaurant or cafe on the territory of the harbour.

The yacht-club is a base for realization of many sailing training gatherings and competitions of different ranges from the city to the world.
Last year navigation 84 yachtsmen with skipper's diploma and 105 ones with steersman's diploma were sailing on trade union's yachts. 30 masters of sports and 43 first echelon sportsmen were sailing on sporting yachts.
Boys and girls over 14 go in for sport as the club members. In 2001 102 members of the club were over 50, there are ones over 70 including yacht's captains.
For anyone having minimal necessary practical knowledge regular theoretic courses in all disciplines are organised for yacht steersmen, yacht skippers, yacht captains. Individual practical lessons of yacht steering are organized.
